Position Overview

Tookitaki is seeking a Frontend Engineer with a passion for clean, modern UI/UX and a strong background in building scalable, data-intensive web applications. You will play a key role in delivering the client-facing interface of Tookitaki’s AI-powered platforms—FinCense and the AFC Ecosystem—which enable real-time fraud detection and AML compliance for leading financial institutions.

This role sits at the intersection of engineering, product, and design, and requires a detail-oriented developer who can bring complex compliance workflows to life with intuitive dashboards, seamless interactions, and enterprise-grade performance.

Position Purpose

As a Frontend Engineer at Tookitaki, your core responsibility is to build responsive, interactive, and robust interfaces that allow compliance professionals to navigate financial crime detection tools with ease. You will collaborate with backend engineers, product managers, and data scientists to deliver visually compelling and highly functional web applications that bring transparency, usability, and control to compliance teams worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

UI Development & Dashboard Engineering

• Build and maintain modern, responsive user interfaces using ReactJS, Angular, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript

• Develop interactive dashboards that present real-time insights into financial crime patterns, alerts, and workflows

• Ensure cross-browser compatibility and a consistent user experience across platforms

Web Application Architecture

• Build and scale robust, high-volume web applications for enterprise environments

• Integrate with backend APIs and real-time data pipelines to support compliance monitoring features

• Implement front-end architecture best practices to ensure maintainability and performance

Prototyping & UX Collaboration

• Rapidly prototype features based on product specs and UX wireframes

• Collaborate with product designers and stakeholders to validate UI designs and workflows

Engineering Best Practices

• Use modular development, version control (Git), automated testing, and code reviews

• Optimize applications for performance, accessibility, and security

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with backend engineers, DevOps, and QA teams

• Collaborate with product and data science teams to visualize data models and user analytics

Qualifications and Skills

Education

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field from a reputed institution

Experience

• 5–8 years of experience in frontend/UI development in fast-paced, high-growth environments

• Proven experience in building and scaling enterprise-grade web applications

Technical Expertise

• Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3

• Deep expertise in ReactJS (including Redux, Redux-Saga, Webpack, NPM)

• Working knowledge of Angular

• Familiarity with UI testing, performance optimization, and responsive design

• Exposure to RESTful APIs, cloud platforms (AWS/GCP), and containerized deployments is a plus
